Ugears adds a new beast to its dinosaur collection with the Triceratops. A dynamic, mechanical DIY wooden model of the dominant herbivore from the late Cretaceous period.

Like the other dino models, the Triceratops is powered by a metal spring that transmits power through a reduction gear, causing the shaft that drives the four legs to rotate.

An eccentric gear causes the tail to swing in sync with the legs, allowing the dinosaur to walk smoothly, just like in nature.

This amazing walking dinosaur model is a wind-up, DIY wooden 1:32 scale model of a fully grown Triceratops. A winding key is hidden between the dinosaur's shoulder blades. Remove the key and insert it into one of the round ratchet mechanisms on either side of the dinosaur's belly.

Hint: If the legs are blocking the winding slot, wind from the opposite side, or press the "Start" button and turn the large gear under the dinosaur's belly to move the legs forward until the winding slot is clear . Press the "Stop" switch and turn the key fully six or seven times to wind the spring, then return the key to its position between the shoulder blades.

Place the Triceratops on a smooth, flat surface, gently hold the regulator by the tail, press down the “Start” switch and release. Your Triceratops will saunter away, its tail waving happily, its huge head and frills bobbing and its jaws breaking. Maybe it's trying to escape danger - a hungry Tyrannosaurus or an exploding volcano? Or maybe your Triceratops is looking for greener pastures?

It takes a lot of ferns and cicadas to fill the belly of a 9-ton beast!

This unwieldy giant can move up to 90-100 cm with each turn.
