This mechanical DIY wooden building kit of a walking tyrannosaurus is powered by a metal spring. This transmits the power via a reduced gear to the axle that drives the legs. Thanks to a clever system of links and connections, this king of the dinosaurs can walk on his own two feet.
An eccentric acceleration causes the tail to swing in sync with the legs, helping the dinosaur maintain its balance and not fall to the side, just like in nature.
 
This amazing walking dinosaur model is a wind-up wooden scale model of an adult Tyrannosaurus Rex. The top of the tail hides the winding key. Place the Tyrannosaurus on a smooth, flat surface, hold the model by the body (don't squeeze the legs!), flip the power switch and let go. Your Tyrannosaurus will slink away in search of its next meal, its tail flailing and its jaws grinding up and down in anticipation. It's actually quite terrifying!
